Similar to fire, smoke is a double edged sword. Smoke may flavour your meat, work as medicine and be used to keep mosquitoes away from people and reindeers. Smoke may also kill you and the environment in various ways that needs no explanation. “Savvu” is a 10-track album that is steered exclusively by a 4-stringed smoking cigar box guitar and mixed for (car) journeys along rural country roads. The songs are titled after different dialectal words for smoke in the Finno-Ugric language Meänkieli. Don´t expect songs with verses, bridges and choruses here; these are just small tonal puffs entering the atmosphere and vanishing shortly thereafter. If the smoke of “Savvu” is good for you or not is something that you need to explore and figure out for yourself.
